Lake Oswego homes
Trent, who owns and runs Portland Christmas Lighting, has lit 150 Lake Oswego homes, by his count of past clients in October 2026. He has hung holiday lights since 2014, starting at 11 with his dad’s lighting company, and Lake Oswego also sits at the center of our service area.
Because lakefront and hillside homes are seen from the street and from the view side, we look at the house from both before we design, and on the lake we light docks and boathouses too, so the view from the water is as finished as the view from the driveway. On sloped lots, the ladder work is also ours.
All of them. Specifically, the City of Lake Oswego recognizes 25 neighborhood associations, from First Addition and Old Town near the lake to Mountain Park, Palisades and Westlake in the hills, and our Christmas light installation service covers every one of them, in 97034 and 97035. The city’s full list follows.
The 25, as the City of Lake Oswego lists them: Birdshill, Blue Heron, Bryant, Evergreen, First Addition and Forest Hills, Forest Highlands, Glenmorrie, Hallinan Heights, Holly Orchard, Lake Forest, Lake Grove, Lakewood, Mary’s Landing, McVey-South Shore, Mountain Park, North Shore-Country Club, Oak Creek, Old Town, Palisades, Rosewood, Skylands, Uplands, Waluga, Westlake and Westridge. Yes. Many Lake Oswego neighborhoods have an HOA, and some also have guidelines for exterior decorations. So send yours with your address, and then we design within them, from colors to where lights can go. Every strand is clipped on, with no nails or staples, so nothing marks the house when it comes down in January.
Our timers turn the lights on at 4:30 pm and off at 11 pm, 6.5 hours every night, and you can also ask for different times. The US Naval Observatory puts sunset in Lake Oswego at 4:30 pm on December 21, 2026, so the display comes on as the shortest days get dark.
Installs run from October 1 into mid-December, and same-week installs are also available. After that, a 50% deposit books your date in writing, and the balance is due at install. In January we take every strand down, label it for your home and store it until next season, with no extra charge because it is part of your price.

Price my homeHow it works
Four steps, and the only one that takes your time is the first, because we handle the rest.
Use the form, or call or text, because your address is all we need to price your home.
Then we text you a firm price the same day, with a mockup of your home lit.
A 50% deposit then holds your install date in writing, and the balance is due at install.
We then install, walk the lit house with you and text you a night photo. Finally, in January we take it all down and store it.
Most homes start at $999 with Classic, the front rooflines. Signature starts at $1,799, while Estate, with the larger trees wrapped, starts at $3,500. Either way, you get one firm price in writing, not a range, and it covers the lights, installation, repairs all season, January takedown and storage, held for three seasons.
Full-service means one company handles the whole season. With Portland Christmas Lighting that is a design for your house, commercial-grade lights we own, a timer, clips-only installation, repairs by the next evening all season, and January takedown, labeling and storage. As a result, there is nothing for you to buy, hang, untangle or store.
In short, you lease them for the season. We own the lights, clips, cords and timer, so your price covers using them, not buying them. However, nothing renews on its own: next fall we offer the same design at this year’s price for 2027 and 2028, and you never have to say yes.
No. We hang commercial-grade lights with clips only, never nails or staples, so nothing pierces your roof, gutters or siding. The clips then come off with the lights in January and leave no marks. Also, if anything on your house is damaged during installation or takedown, we fix it at our own cost.
By the next evening, all season. If a strand goes dark, call or text Trent at (503) 714-5120, and then we come back and fix it. If ice or high wind makes the roof unsafe, we fix it the first evening it is safe. Repairs are part of your price, so a fix never adds to your bill.
Book early in the fall for the widest choice of dates, because installs begin October 1 and run into mid-December, and a 50% deposit holds your date in writing. Same-week installs are also available while the calendar has room, and every display comes down in January as part of your price.
Yes. In fact, our service area covers all 25 neighborhood associations the City of Lake Oswego recognizes, on both sides of the lake and up into the hills. So send your address with the form, or call or text (503) 714-5120, to confirm your install date and get your firm price the same day.
